#7 – Hua Hin
Hua Hin has exploded as a popular destination among tourists, and on my visit there in 2023, I found it overcrowded with them. In fact, at times, it felt like there were more tourists than local Thais there!
However, whenever tourists congregate, more local women tend to go to a particular destination in hopes of finding a foreign boyfriend. The influx of tourists to Hua Hin likely draws Thai women to the area looking to meet foreigners.
With its large number of foreigners, Hua Hin can sometimes lose its feel of being in the “real Thailand.” But for someone seeking to meet Thai women interested in dating foreigners, it may be worth navigating the crowds. If you visit Hua Hin, just be prepared for many tourists, especially around the beach streets.
#6 – Khon Kaen
Khon Kaen is a working man’s city in northeast Thailand with beautiful women but not much aesthetic appeal. However, I found the local women to be exceptionally beautiful during my visit. It’s a city filled with rug makers, motorbike mechanics, and other small shops and businesses. The hustle and bustle gives it a lively vibe, even if the city itself lacks natural beauty.
I met a gorgeous woman from ThaiFriendly who worked in reception at one of the local hotels in Khon Kaen. She was sweet, down-to-earth, and embodied the natural beauty of Isaan women.

While foreigners and tourists do not frequently visit Khon Kaen, my experience was great. The local women are approachable and friendly. For single men, it’s an underrated city in Thailand to meet a girlfriend or partner potentially. You’ll experience a bit of celebrity-like treatment as you stroll through the city, thanks to the relatively fewer number of foreigners in the area.
#5 – Pattaya
Pattaya is known for having some of the most beautiful women in Thailand. Many of the most gorgeous Thai women congregate in Pattaya’s famous go-go bars and nightlife scene. While the nightlife can be tempting, use caution when pursuing relationships in Pattaya.
If you aren’t into the party stuff, then Pattaya may not be for you. Personally, I’m not too fond of partying and late nights. The better option if you wanted to stay long-term would be the Jomtien beach area. It is a small adjacent town next to Pattaya and has much less of a red-light district feel. You will be more likely to find relationship-material women there.
Pattaya’s reputation as a red-light district makes it difficult to find women who are serious about long-term relationships. Some women may seek financial benefits or arrangements if you meet them working in bars. It’s important to vet any potential partner properly.
While Pattaya does have its share of working women, there are regular Thai women living normal lives. The challenge is distinguishing between the two. Make an effort to meet women outside of the bar scene through activities, social clubs, dating apps etc. This improves your chances of finding someone genuine.
The beauty of Pattaya women can be intoxicating. But avoid being so dazzled you ignore red flags or lapses in judgment. Proceed carefully in this city known for adult entertainment. It’s possible to find a quality partner with some discretion and patience. But you must be diligent in screening out women primarily seeking financial gain.
#4 – Phuket
Phuket is one of Thailand’s most famous beach destinations, located in southern Thailand on the Andaman Sea. With its beautiful white sand beaches, luxury resorts, and lively party atmosphere, Phuket attracts millions of foreign tourists every year.
Many of these tourists are young backpackers and travelers looking to have fun and meet new people during their stay. As a result, Phuket has developed a reputation as not only a tropical paradise, but also as a great place to meet foreign women. However, when compared to Bangkok and Chiang Mai, I think it ranks far behind as far as meeting good Thai women.
The nightlife scene caters heavily to these young travelers, with beach bars, nightclubs, and go-go bars open late into the night. For single men, these venues can provide opportunities to mingle with foreign women also visiting Phuket. Places like Bangla Road or the area around Patong Beach stay active well after midnight.
While some associate Phuket’s nightlife with transactional relationships, many regular backpackers and travelers are simply looking to have fun and find adventure. With an open and outgoing attitude, you can meet plenty of interesting foreign women from all over Europe, Australia, Russia, North America, etc.
#3 – Udon Thani
Of the big four cities in Isan, Udon Thani was my personal favorite. Other expats I’ve met have said they didn’t like it, but I found the women there to be very beautiful. It is similar to Khon Kaen, but in my opinion, has more aesthetic beauty, and I found the city as a whole to have more interesting things to do.
The city has a nice blend of traditional Thai architecture alongside modern shopping malls and amenities. Walking around, you’ll see beautiful Buddhist temples, street food stalls selling delicious local cuisine, and locals going about their daily lives. One of my favorite amenities is Nong Prajak Park, a large park with exercise equipment and a jogging track that surrounds a beautiful lake.
As for meeting women, I had great success using ThaiFriendly and arranging dates at some of the classier bars and restaurants around town. The women I met were sweet, down-to-earth, and stunningly gorgeous.
Like Khon Kaen, being a foreigner in Udon Thani gives you a bit of a celebrity status. I got some professional massages (not the happy kind), and the masseuses were all trying to set me up with one of their beautiful cousins.
While Udon Thani may fly under the radar for some, I think it’s an underrated gem. The laidback vibe, natural beauty, and friendly locals, especially the lovely ladies, make it one of my top picks for an authentic Thai experience.

#2 – Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is Thailand’s second-largest city and a popular destination for tourists and expats. Unlike Bangkok, it has a much smaller red-light district, making it easier to meet quality women.
Two of the main attractions in Chiang Mai are the Maya Lifestyle Shopping Center and Central Festival Mall, which are always filled with young Thai women shopping and socializing. The city’s many cafes are also good places to meet university students and young professionals.
In recent years, Chiang Mai has become a hub for digital nomads worldwide. The combination of low living costs, good infrastructure, and a pleasant climate draw remote workers who often stay for months or years. This international scene makes it easy to meet foreign women if that’s your preference.
The women in Chiang Mai tend to be more relaxed and friendly than in hyper-busy Bangkok. It’s an ideal place to approach women during the day or early evening. Just be respectful, initiate a conversation, and you’ll have a good chance of getting a date or phone number.
#1 – Bangkok
Despite Bangkok’s reputation for having a famous red-light district, I think it is massively overblown. There are so many good-quality women there who work professional jobs and are in college. With over 11 million people, Bangkok is Thailand’s largest city and capital.
The population’s sheer size means plenty of educated, middle-class Thai women are looking for long-term relationships. Bangkok has top universities like Chulalongkorn University and Thammasat University that draw young women across the country. These educated women often find good jobs in Bangkok after graduating.
Bangkok also has a growing middle class and many opportunities for ambitious women. Many work in corporate jobs, start their own businesses, or freelance in creative fields. These modern, independent women are more open to dating foreigners.
While Bangkok’s red-light districts exist, they are confined to certain areas, specifically the Nana and Asok areas. However, much of Bangkok comprises normal neighborhoods and business districts where regular Thai people live and work.

Other Notable Cities
Thailand has many other cities that are worth considering when meeting Thai women, especially for those seeking a more authentic Thai experience away from the tourist hotspots.
The northeastern city of Nong Khai is a true hidden gem. It sits peacefully on the banks of the Mekong River across from Laos. One of my favorite hotels in all of Thailand is the Mut Mee Guest House. You can relax in hammocks overlooking the river and the attractive Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge. The relaxed pace of life, charming locals, and natural beauty make Nong Khai a delight.
Another city to consider is Ubon Ratchathani, the main city of northeast Thailand’s Isan region. While not on most tourists’ radars, Ubon has a fascinating mix of Khmer (Cambodia) and Lao influences. The city is home to some of the most striking Buddhist temples in Thailand. It also has a lively night market and plenty of authentic Isan food. Also, it’s important to know that many of the beautiful women that work in Bangkok and Pattaya come from the provinces of Isan.
Few foreigners make it to Roi Et, but those who do are rewarded with warm hospitality and an immersion into real Thai culture. Roi Et has bustling wet markets, ancient Khmer ruins, and fascinating Buddhist sites without the crowds. The nightlife here is more relaxed but fun.
