The Cupid Network is my favorite collection of dating apps to meet women around the world. I have also used FilipinoCupid in the Philippines with tremendous success. For meeting Colombian women online, I relied primarily on ColombianCupid when I spent 9 months living in Medellin, Colombia.
Perhaps the best feature of ColombianCupid is that the women on the platform are specifically seeking foreign boyfriends. This is a stark difference when compared to other apps like Tinder and Bumble where there is competition to stand out from boatloads of local Colombian men, ColombianCupid is solely for pairing beautiful Colombian women with foreign men like yourself.
Of all the dating apps I used in Colombia, I found the highest quality women on ColombianCupid. In my first month, I went on dates with four different women that I met on the website. Although, I eventually ended up in a monogamous relationship with a woman I met on Facebook Dating, the women on ColombianCupid tended to be more serious about meeting in person compared to other apps. Anecdotally, they seemed to flake less on planned dates and I also felt there were fewer scammers or women just looking to take advantage of foreign men on this app.
With the Cupid Network, you can filter your matches exactly how you want. I like to filter for women with no kids, slim or petite body types, attractive appearance, and who don’t smoke or drink excessively. This really helps narrow down your options to find your perfect match. You can’t do this on Tinder or Bumble.
Facebook Dating
Don’t sleep on Facebook for finding girlfriends overseas. I struck gold when I found my eventual Colombian girlfriend by using the Facebook Dating app within the Facebook platform. It allows you to browse other people’s dating profiles, using a match based algorithm, and send messages to women after you’ve matched with them. The dating feature is built directly into the main Facebook app, so it’s easy to toggle over to the dating section and start searching profiles.
Perhaps, since profiles are tied to a person’s real Facebook account, it could be the safest option for online dating in Colombia. It can help reduce fake profiles and give you a better sense of who someone is before meeting them, although you still shouldn’t let your guard down.
One advantage of Facebook Dating is that it pulls basic profile info and photos from your existing Facebook account to create your dating profile. You can then add more photos and edit your bio specifically for dating purposes. When browsing, you see a person’s name, age, location, and mutual friends/interests.

LatinAmericanCupid
In addition to ColombianCupid, the Cupid Network also has LatinAmericanCupid which includes women from all over Latin America. The big factor to consider with LatinAmericanCupid is that it offers a much wider range of women from South and Central America. This makes it a great option if you’re planning to visit multiple countries in the region or are still unsure on your trip itinerary. For example, on a three month trip, I traveled to Colombia, Brazil, Panama, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic. For a trip like mine, LatinAmericanCupid is the ideal option.
During my time in Colombia, I subscribed to both ColombianCupid and LatinAmericanCupid dating apps to evaluate their effectiveness. I noticed that there was very little overlap between the Colombian women on both websites. As a result, my pool of potential matches in Colombia nearly doubled, allowing me to have a wider range of prospects to choose from.

While the user base is more diverse, LatinAmericanCupid still has a large number of Colombian women using the platform. So you’ll have plenty of options even if only focusing on Colombia. The signup process, features, and pricing on LatinAmericanCupid are all the same as ColombianCupid. So you can expect the same high-quality experience. Overall, I slightly prefer ColombianCupid over LatinAmericanCupid, if you are specifically looking to date in Colombia.

Does the Cupid Media Network include all the dating websites?
No, the Cupid Network of dating websites are not interrelated via subscriptions other than sharing the same parent company. This means if you purchase one subscription you do not get access to the other location-based subscriptions. For example, if you buy ColombianCupid.com, you only have access to this website, and none of the other options (LatinAmericanCupid, FilipinoCupid, ThaiCupid, InternationalCupid, etc.). Those require a separate subscription.
Tinder & Bumble (not recommended in Colombia)
Unfortunately it is not recommended to use Tinder or Bumble in Colombia, because of safety concerns related to druggings and robbings, both by foreign expats and the Colombian government. They are working to correct the issue but there is no clear-cut solution.
I did have success using Bumble in Medellin, Colombia. While it is perhaps slightly less dangerous than Tinder, the same safety concerns apply on both applications. If decide to use them, make sure to be extra diligent in filtering your prospects and always meet in a public, safe place for your first few meetings.
I was on Tinder for a brief period of time in Colombia. I routinely encountered sketchy messaging exchanges with women that were undeniably gorgeous but wanted to come directly to my AirBnb instead of meeting in public first. There were lots of women without verified profiles and some that said they didn’t have social media profiles (Instagram or Facebook). I prefer to cross examine prospects to make sure they are not catfish and have a long, positive history on Instagram with pictures dating back years.
There have been numerous reports of men being drugged, robbed, and even killed after meeting women on these apps. The women often work with criminal gangs who target naive foreign men.

Instagram for Dating
Instagram is gaining notoriety worldwide, including Colombia, as becoming more than just a social media platform but as a way to meet women. In Colombia, I gave Instagram a try as a dating app, and had decent success. If you have a good looking profile, it’s purely a numbers game where you simply follow and message women you are interested in, and then hope that they follow and message you back.
The key is to use Instagram’s search tools wisely. Search by location or hashtag to find Colombian women who match your interests. Many Colombian women use Instagram to showcase their lifestyle, interests, and beauty. Plus, you can get a good read on the type of woman they there by analyzing their profile.
The simple step-by-step process for meeting women on Instagram goes like this:
- Google popular locations that fit your interests (parks, bars, tennis courts, etc.)
- Find these locations on Instagram search
- Browse the pictures for women who have tagged themselves in that location
- Follow their account, like some of their posts
- Direct Message (DM) them with a thoughtful compliment
If they follow you back and engage with your content, that’s a great sign.. Your success rate will be lower than on traditional dating platforms. But, you may find someone with similar interests as you. For example, I love to play tennis. Seeking.com, formerly “Seeking Arrangements” is exploding as a top international dating website designed to pair prospective sugar daddies with sugar babies. I used the website during my travels through Eastern Europe and Asia, but opted against it in Medellin, Colombia. Because of the criminal activity used to target foreigners and their money, it doesn’t seem like a good idea to use it in Colombia.
The women on seeking.com are the most beautiful of any dating platform I have used because of the nature of the website. Sugar babies tend to be incredibly beautiful, seeking to capitalize on their looks to attract wealthy men for mutually beneficial relationships.

Is Dating.com Used In Colombia?
I haven’t personally used dating.com in Colombia, so I cannot provide firsthand experience. However, I became curious about its high ranking on other websites for Colombian dating, so I conducted my own investigation. I asked some friends in Colombia about their familiarity with the platform, and they informed me that they had never heard of or used it before.
Additionally, I created an account and noticed that a significant number of women on the website resemble models. This raises a red flag because even in Colombia, a country known for its stunning women, not all individuals possess a model-like appearance. Furthermore, I came across a Quora discussion that supports the notion that dating.com is not worth the expense and several users called it a “scam”.
